The conference “Future of Wood” took place on February 1, 2024 during the BUDMA Fairs in Poznań. Prof. Dr. Bartłomiej Mazela presented a lecture “Wood and wood-based materials in modern building engineering”. The llecture was focused on the potential of wood as the material, its environmental advantages and the key features as related to building engineering. Professor Bartłomiej Mazela referred to the ongoing “Cellmat4ever” project and presented exceptional progress in applications of construction timber and referred to achievements in engineering of wood and lignocellulosic materials. The main objective of the project is to produce an innovative material based on cellulose, lignocellulosic raw material or modified wood with new functional properties, i.e. reduced flammability and increased water resistance.
