Poznan University of Life Sciences (PULS) is a state institution of higher education; it is one of the biggest and well-known Polish universities of that kind. The University offers education in the framework of 6 faculties organized into institutes and departments. The offered curricula meet both the scientific progress and the needs of modern agriculture, forestry and broadly meant food economy. Within the University the leading role in developing new methods for environmental friendly wood and natural based materials protection is played by the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology. Research activities related to enhanced wood durability are concentrated mainly on developing methods for new, eco-friendly methods for wood preservation and coatings. The researchers are experienced in national and international scientific collaboration within many projects, including Polish Norwegian Research Program (project acronym: DURAWOOD). The Faculty has more than 20 years experience in participation in European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST). The special activity was manifested in the Domain of the Forests, their Products and Services (FPS). The Faculty members are active in Management Committees and Working Groups of several COST actions. The activity resulted in cooperation links between scientists of the Faculty and researches from European universities. The joined projects resulted in scientific papers, textbooks etc. The Faculty of Wood Technology is a member of IUFRO (International Union of Forest Research Organization) and is in active collaboration with many universities and institutes involved in scientific experimentation and research, both in Poland and abroad. International student exchange is organized, among others thanks to Erasmus PLUS and Ceepus programs. The research activities of the Faculty concentrate in the following fields: wood and paper science, technological optimization of mechanical wood processing, gluing technology as well as finishing processes, emission of toxic gaseous substances, wood based panels production and properties, rheology of wood and fracture mechanics of wooden structural elements, wood drying, design and optimization of wood constructions and furniture, systems for dust extraction and ventilation, ecological aspects of wood working processes, modification of wood, wood protection and preservation, pulping processes, paper modification, thermal modification of wood. PULS brings its know-how in wooden structures and its wide networks of local construction entrepreneurs and its skills in developing supply-chains and partnerships with technology transfer centres.

Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research (NIBIO) is to contribute to food security and safety, sustainable resource management, innovation and value creation through research and knowledge production within food, forestry and other biobased industries. NIBIO is a project driven research institute and collects approximately 100 million NOK annually in project funding from both national and international sources. A lot of activity is carried out through EU and EEAprojects and also participate in research projects in Asia, Africa and Latin America. NIBIO coordinates several large international projects with a particular focus on food security and climate change. NIBIOs employees contribute to several hundred scientific articles and research reports every year. The collection is continuously updated with new and historical material. Bioeconomy is an economy that exploits biological resources from land and sea, as well as waste, as inputs for food, energy and other goods and services. NIBIO’s main research focus in this regard is on biological resources from soil, plants, forests and land. Researchers look at which parts of nature should be protected, managed or utilised in order to extract value from nature in an environmentally and climate friendly way. NIBIO has around 700 employees organised in five scientific divisions and four staffs. Is localised all over Norway. NIBIO develops and manages a wide range of services and tools aimed towards industry and administration. Bioeconomy is an economy that exploits biological resources from land and sea, as well as waste, as inputs for food, energy and other goods and services. NIBIO is to become the leading national centre for the development of knowledge within the field of bioeconomy. The goal of the Institute is to contribute to food security, sustainable resource management, innovation and value creation through research and knowledge production within food, forestry and other biobased industries. NIBIO delivers research, managerial support and knowledge for use in national preparedness, as well as for businesses and the society at large. Approximately 700 employees are present in all parts of the country. The main office is located at Ås in Akershus, just outside Oslo. NIBIO is subject to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food as an administrative agency with special authorization and  its own supervisory board.

The company Poskładani.pl was established in 2014. Specializes in the structural design of transport and unit packaging made of corrugated and solid cardboard. Thanks to extensive experience and industry know-how, designs packaging in a comprehensive way. Based on the client's guidelines and the logistic assumptions of the product distribution, selects the appropriate construction solutions, taking into account the strength analysis, efficiency of packaging operations and transport processes, but above all the functional properties of the packaging for the recipient. During packaging develop process, offers its clients packaging prototypes, made to verify functional assumptions, and test production batches, aimed at validating logistics and strength assumptions. The company specializes in low-series production carried out using its own equipment and mass production in the form of cooperation with specialized production plants. The company's competitive advantage is the cooperation network and the resulting flexibility in the selection of appropriate production technology. Designers optimize packaging to meet the needs of the recipient, not suggesting a specific machine park. Thanks to this approach, the company offers its customers the best solutions for them, not for the manufacturer, which is a common practice of R&D departments integrated with a specific manufacturer. Due to the nature of the company's activity, great emphasis is placed on research and development. The company is currently implementing a project called "Build of a research and development centre for innovative transport and display packaging together with the development of corrugated board creasing technology during the production of packaging and POS materials by numerical method." As part of the Wielkopolska Regional Operational Program for 2014-2020, Measure 1.2. The goal of the project is to increase the innovation potential of POSkładani.pl by developing an innovative technology on a global scale and to create a research and development centre based on the research equipment acquired as part of the project. The acquired infrastructure will allow further work related to the technology of packaging and materials made of corrugated cardboard.
