As part of the Scientists' Night 2023 (29.09.2023), a series of shows was held entitled "Coal - can it protect against fire?". The shows presented the latest solutions for protecting lignocellulosic materials against fire, using various carbon additives, developed in the CellMat4ever project. The behavior of cellulose materials, produced as part of the CellMat4ever project, during fire exposure was shown. Demonstration participants could compare the fire protection of cellulose sheets using expanding graphite and carbon nanotubes with pure cellulose and learn about the mechanism of action of the carbon additives, as mentioned earlier. The possibilities of using these additives for varnish coatings on wood were also shown.
